IIS7 generates HTTP Error 404.17

Hi rene, I got the same issue but with Vista. Did you get a solution to this?

Have you checked that the staticfilehandler is added to the <system.webserver> configuration element?

The web.config deployed by Deployment Center on Win2008/Vista is made for Integrated mode, not classic.

Sorry I don't remember exactly how I solved it. I think I reinstalled EPiServer and didn't use Classic mode as Per mentioned.

well, Its not an episerver site, instead another app added as a virtual directory in IIS that has to be runned in classic mode.
But we solved in finally by installing it as another site and reference it differently.
I just hoped I could get more clues that google couldn't offer :-)

After installing a new site on a Windows 2008 server the site generates the following error:
HTTP Error 404.17 - Not Found
The requested content appears to be script and will not be served by the static file handler.
What I have done:
* use deployment center for installation
* verified that the web.config is the IIS7 specific version
* added a script mapping for aspnet_isapi.dll
* changed to classic application pool
What did I miss?
