Yes, I know that MSSQL2000 is outdated but does anyone knows what makes R2 impossible to run with SQL2000?

Technical req specifies sql2005 and later.

EPiServer CMS Support for Microsoft SQL Server

Microsoft's support for SQL Server 2000 will be ending April 7, 2008. As a result of this, EPiServer CMS R2 will not support SQL Server 2000.

EPiServer CMS support for SQL Server 2008 will be added during 2008.
