SearchDataSource not working

Hello!

Our site uses SearchDataSource (EPiServer.Web.WebControls.SearchDataSource) for some search functionality. It works on my dev-machine and our test server but no search result is given in production.

The only difference i can find is that EPiServer Search is installed on all environments except for production.

Is EPiServer Search neeeded for SearchDataSource to work? It worked before we upgraded to CMS7.

Yes, you need to install it to get any search functionality in cms 7. Including the edit mode search boxes.
