Hi team. Do we have any plan to upgrade MVC version to 6 or Core? I am mainly interested in View Component (instead of child action) and performance gain in Core.

There have been meetups where Epi has presented the template part of the site running on .NET Core. They had already made use of Tag Helpers instead of @Html.PropertyFor as an example. No idea on the timeline as of now though.

I can't give you a timeline at this point, but as Johan mentiones, we are doing research in this area.
