Using datasource with Menulist

Is it possible to use a PageDataCollection as the datasource for a menulist control? I want to create a menu of pages from different parts of the website, so I’ve built a PageDataCollection and set that as the datasource and performed a databind. But the menulist control datacount is always 0 and therefore nothing is displayed. Any ideas? Steve.
